The book of illusions
It's mint green and lilac
to sleep with you again
A dizzying sensation of the familiar
Your bed that I know from head to toe
that carries the ink of my blood

It's right but it's wrong to steal time with you
I'll look into your eyes strong as wood
there is no part of your body
that I will leave untouched

I'm worried that when I'll fall asleep after loving you wholly
Another dream of the doom of us will daunt on me
Turning the right into wrong all in the same day
And I will leave you again

Like when I looked at you in awe at the pizzeria
and you seemed the fulfilment of all my dreams
but it was an illusion and it slipped out of my hands
right as I looked at it

The power of us scares me, but
moreso what scares me is the impact we left on each other
It is deep, heavy, all encompassing, indelible
It is fire, melancholy, awe, scarcity and abundance
And it always comes back.

We cannot -
I cannot see you and leave you
untouched, unwhispered with words of love towards you
without falling back into a pit

It simmers under the skin
