La Iris (1996) is a Dutch singer-songwriter raised in the Netherlands and in France. Mostly fascinated by words and language growing up, yet always singing, she finally merged her two passions in 2023, with her delicate debut single "When I Wake" as a result.

Marked by a sense of melancholia and nostalgia, her sound is recognised for its storytelling aspect, drawing influence from pop, folk and country songwriting traditions. Carla Bruni, Françoise Hardy, and Birdy - artists she grew up listening to - influence her the most to this day.

 

With her soothing, crystal-clear voice, solely accompanied by piano or guitar, La Iris silences smoky Berlin bars and guides listeners on an introspective journey through heartbreak and its aftermath.
