La Iris
La Iris is a Dutch singer-songwriter raised in the Netherlands and in France. Mostly fascinated by words and language growing up yet always singing, she made her first attempt at combining music and her love for writing in 2023, with the nostalgic ‘When I Wake’ as a result.
Music is a healing space for La Iris. Here, the feelings that have no form of expression in our daily lives can breathe: love that endures after a relationship has ended; the pain of losing someone. Nostalgia is allowed.
Heartbreak becomes the starting point for an introspective journey from death to resurrection. Carried solely by the piano or by the guitar, in pop/folk melodies, her soothing voice will disarm you into feeling.
La Iris is currently working on her first EP, set to release in 2026.
MUSIC VIDEO
"Letting You Go" is a dreamy guitar ballad with hints of harmonica. This song catapults La Iris into her independence, symbolising the end of a chapter. It tells about a time where we recognise we have been holding onto our wounds for too long and decided it's time to let go.
